LOCATION: Cram Hall, campus of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 530 C St., Petaluma

REHEARSALS: Tuesdays, 7:00-9:15 pm, plus dress rehearsal the week of concerts, 6:30-9:30 pm. Dress rehearsal date and concert dates to be announced each session. All rehearsals have a refreshment break at the mid-point.

Advance notice will be given for any changes to date, time and/or venue.

REHEARSAL MATERIALS/CONCERNS: black 3-ring binder or choral folder, pencil and water bottle (if desired).

PRACTICE AIDS:

The following are free programs/apps available on the computer, phone or tablet to be used as aids for practicing each session’s materials (these are not mandatory but very helpful). Linda will send an email with a link to each piece for each of the below.

Appcompanist: free app that uses piano recordings of individual voice parts.

Musescore: free app that allows singers to play each voice part alone or in conjunction with other parts.

YouTube: recordings of most pieces will be sent to hear the entirety of each piece.

CONCERT ATTIRE:

All black in plain material with NO pattern

Women:

Dress: floor or tea length with ¾ length or long sleeves

OR

Dress pants: no leggings

Skirt: floor or tea length

Blouse:* ¾ length or long sleeves

Dress shoes: low heel

*Performance specific top may be purchased

Men:

Dress slacks

Dress shirt: long sleeves

Tie: long

Dress shoes: with black socks

Jewelry:

Silver, gold or pearl

Necklaces should not contain easily visible displays of color

Earrings should be studs or no more than 1 inch in length

Wrist watches ok, smart watches should be silenced

ATTENDANCE: Choir members are expected to attend every rehearsal. Everyone has circumstances that affect attendance, but participating in rehearsals is critical to learning and creating a lovely sound as well as preparing for concert. If a choir member consistently misses rehearsals, he or she may be excused from the concerts. However, if you are sick PLEASE STAY HOME AND LET LINDA KNOW. We are so thankful to sing, but we want to sing with joy and health!
